What's counted: every time the homepage loads, a single shared number increases by one. That's the entire mechanism.
What isn't collected: no IP addresses, no cookies, no user-agents, no per-visit log, nothing tied to who you are. This page can't tell one visitor from another, and a reload counts again — it's a raw hit counter, not unique-visitor analytics.
